OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

You do not know what is in store for you in life. Be prepared as much as possible to make quick adjustments, it might save your life and others.

Mr. Hogan from his early childhood had to overcome obstacles in order to keep living. He did it to keep others alive too. The death of his father put a tremendous burden on him and he worked very hard to bring money home to his Mother.

He would sleep over night at the golf course to keep his caddy job. He would lay out a few newspapers to lay on as he slept in a bunker in order to be first in line for a better caddy job. Mr. Hogan worried about young people in that they do not know what hard times were and that they were not prepared to survive them.

Coming back in a years time to win the U.S. Open was an impossible task even to think about, let alone do. Mr. Hogan did that.

He threw himself in front of his wife, Valerie, to protect her from injury when a bus collided with their car while they were driving to the next tournament.
Mr. Hogan survived all of this. We should contemplate how lucky we are and learn from the hardships that the Hogan's endured.
